One of the highlights of this summer for our team? EcoSteps.
Back in June, we joined young people from different countries for the EcoSteps Youth Exchange in Lębork, Poland.
Over the course of the exchange, we talked about climate change and the environmental challenges we see in our own communities, explored the Erasmus+ programme, took part in debates and joined a local park clean-up.
But what stayed with us most wasn’t a single activity.
It was the mix of perspectives.
Different countries, different experiences, different ways of looking at the same environmental challenges — and plenty of conversations in between.
There were cultural evenings, new connections, shared meals, music, debates, and, of course, a few discoveries about each other’s national traditions.
Months later, EcoSteps is still one of those experiences we look back on and think: this is what international youth work is about.
Different roots. Shared ground.
