Digital education is changing how teachers work. But how does it affect their wellbeing?
A 2026 study of 1,000 teachers in Albania explored the relationship between anxiety and burnout in digitalised education.
The study found that higher levels of anxiety were associated with higher levels of occupational exhaustion, with anxiety explaining around 6% of the variation in burnout.
For Beyond the Screen, this raises an important question: how can educators stay motivated, resilient and well while working in increasingly digital environments?
Because sustainable digital education is not only about better tools. It’s also about the people behind the screen.
