Digital education isn’t only changing how we teach. It’s changing how teaching feels.
As digital tools become part of everyday education, one question often stays in the background: what is the experience of the educator?
OECD research shows that successful digital education depends on more than technology. Teachers also need time, support and opportunities to reflect. Without these, digital innovation can become another source of pressure instead of support.
That’s why Beyond the Screen looks beyond technology itself.
The project explores how digital teaching influences workload, motivation and wellbeing — because sustainable digital education starts with supporting the people behind the screen.
One of the tools we’re developing is a short self-assessment that helps educators reflect on their own experience and recognise signs of overload early.
