Young people are not just users of the internet. They are its moderators — shaping norms, tone, and behaviour every day.
Safer Internet Day highlights the role youth already play in setting boundaries online: calling out hate, supporting peers, deciding what gets shared, repeated, or challenged. Within the UNITY project, we work with young people to strengthen this role — building skills to recognise hate speech, respond to it, and actively shape safer digital spaces.
A safer internet is not something built for young people. It is built with them.
