This week in The Hague, remembrance and freedom take center stage.
From the commemoration on May 4 to the Liberation Festival on May 5, these moments remind us that peace, inclusion and respect are not abstract ideas — they are choices societies make, again and again.
Within UNITY, we’re working with these same questions in a different context.
During our monthly meeting on 30 May, we focused on the next steps:
– preparing youth-led activities and the exhibition in June
– developing educational resources on hate speech and online behaviour
– building national coalitions connecting youth, organisations and decision-makers
– shaping support systems for those affected by hate speech
Because preventing hate doesn’t start with reacting —
it starts with education, dialogue, and participation.
