When more people ask for help, it’s worth looking beyond the numbers.
The Netherlands has reported a 21% increase in reports of sexual violence for the third consecutive year. While that sounds alarming, the Dutch Centre for Sexual Violence believes it may also reflect growing trust in support services, with more survivors choosing to seek help.
Many cases still go unreported because of fear, shame or uncertainty. That’s why awareness, education and accessible support matter.
Gender equality is not only about equal rights and opportunities. It’s also about creating a society where people know they will be believed and supported when they ask for help.
These are the conversations we continue through LET HER IN. Because sometimes awareness is the first step towards breaking the silence.
