Earlier today, the Beyond the Screen project welcomed educators, trainers and adult learning professionals to its first webinar on motivation, engagement and well-being in online education.
Participants explored and tested the Beyond the Screen self-assessment tool while reflecting on their own experiences of teaching and learning online.
Interestingly, many of the challenges we discussed became visible during the webinar itself. Participants joined from different environments, with different levels of digital confidence and different ways of engaging. Some contributed actively, while others preferred to listen and reflect.
These observations will help us further develop the self-assessment tool and better understand how factors such as digital skills, access to technology, response time and question design influence participation in online learning.
