Our final podcast rehearsal of the Regenerative Visions project ended on exactly the note we hoped for: grounded, thoughtful, and full of real-world examples that make “regeneration” feel less like a concept and more like something you can touch.
In this last session, Baldin Zafirov and Lidia Dimitrova showed how regenerative thinking appears in places many of us overlook. They spoke about Repair Cafés as small ecosystems of knowledge and care — places where broken objects (and sometimes broken habits) get a second life. They reflected on how neighbourhood subsidies in the Netherlands quietly strengthen social ties: a shared plant, a card for a neighbour, a gesture that reminds people they belong to something bigger.
Lidia added a technological layer, sharing the story of a blockchain initiative that rewards citizens with local tokens for fixing public tasks — a creative way to support both the environment and the local economy.
As the final rehearsal closed, what remained was a sense of possibility: regeneration doesn’t need grand gestures. It grows through small acts that reshape how communities think, act, and imagine their future.
